CHALLENGE
Seattle Office of Arts and Culture and Seattle Department of Transportation wanted to find a way to create more bike parking and encourage people to park outside of pedestrian walkways.
CONCEPT
Located at Benaroya Hall, the home of the Seattle Symphony, these bike corral designs aim to expand our understanding of music. The vibrant designs explore sound as a physical and visual phenomenon, challenging the notion of sound as purely an auditory experience.
Each design depicts real patterns created when unique frequencies respond to malleable substances like water and sand. These forms echo structures found throughout nature, such as waves, flowers, and snowflakes.
