Posters
For decades I have been making posters for shows, movies, events, and social awareness. I love the constraints of a single piece of paper and how they have to stand alone as objects that entice the audience to attend, engage, and act. These posters are a selection of recent work including student projects.

THE GRIZZLED MIGHTY
In the band’s origin story it is alleged that The Grizzled Mighty was formed in the fiery belly of an active volcano. I was inspired by this mythology to create a god-like creature with hair that causes sonic tremors. They roam the gnarled, wild places of the earth bringing sounds that have never been before been heard by human ears.

HASKELL
Haskell was born with a unique ability to manipulate time. This short film shows his struggles to understand and control his abilities as a youth and in adulthood. The poster uses symbolism from the movie-blood, the ocean, and the sky to draw the viewer into the mysterious film. The poster is illustrated with layers of cut paper.

BIC 4 COLOR PEN
The world-renowned Bic 4 Color pen was released in 1970. In 2020, Bic released a Special 50th Anniversary Edition of the pen that included purple ink.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of Americans are spending more time at home and daily life has become mundane and routine. This campaign seeks to provide Seattle residents with a tiny peek into the lives of individuals stuck at home but breaking their everyday humdrum routines through creative expression. The addition of the shutters provides passersby with the feeling that these are authentic windows.

MIDSOMMAR
Midsommar is a horror movie set in an idyllic rural town in Sweden where a cult lures people in to commit ritual sacrifice. I’ve incorporated symbolism used throughout the film including flowers, runes, and psychedelia. The phrase, “Take a trip to Sweden” entices the audience the way the characters are drawn into the embrace of the cult.
